OffBeat is excited to premiere “Sack Full of Dreams,” a track by Jamison Ross off his debut solo album Jamison.
The Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition-winning drummer has played with the likes of Dr. John, Cindy Scott, Irvin Mayfield, Snarky Puppy, Carmen Lundy, and plenty of others.
On this album, which he describes as honest expression of who he is as a musician and as a human being, the esteemed percussionist also reveals his impressive abilities as a singer and composer.
The album was recorded last August and features Dayve Stewart (sax), Alphonso Horne III (trumpet), Rick Lollar (guitar), Chris Pattishall (piano), Cory Irvin (organ), and Corcoran Holt (bass), as well as Jonathan Batiste on four of the tracks.
