Blues guitarist Eric Johanson is celebrating the release of his debut album later this month. After signing to Tab Benoit‘s Whiskey Bayou Records, Johanson announced the impending release of Burn It Down, produced and engineered entirely by Benoit.

The two will perform together on Friday, September 29, at the Maple Leaf Bar (8316 Oak Street) to celebrate. Attendees will be treated to music from the forthcoming album, which arrives October 13 after originally being slated for a summer release. Burn It Down CDs will, however, be available for purchase at the show next week.

Johanson has been on the road as of late, touring his new music in Arizona and Nevada. He’s returning to Louisiana to perform a gig in Alexandria at the Les Fest before his return to New Orleans. The event is open to the public.
