The Krewe of the Rolling Elvi–a group of scooter-riding Elvis impersonators that roll through the streets of New Orleans during Carnival season–will observe the 39th anniversary of the King’s death with a party.
The gathering is called Dia de Los Elvis Muertos, and it’s scheduled to take place at The Willow in New Orleans on Friday, August 19. It should come as no surprise that costumes are encouraged for the event, which will feature an array of UV lights to make those outfits glow. The night will also showcase music from WFAM, The Unnaturals and Clockwork Elvis.
The party begins at 8pm, and the cover is $5 at the door. Drinks will be available via a cash bar, with a portion of the proceeds going to Save Our Cemeteries.
Elvis Presley passed away in Memphis, TN on August 16, 1977. The Krewe of Rolling Elvi has celebrated his life and legacy since 2003.
