After a brutal summer and an unfortunate brush with a natural disaster, autumn couldn’t have come any sooner for New Orleans. These days (and hopefully for the next few weeks), the breeze is light, the air, inviting, and the music invigorating. Add a hearty bunch of second lines and local festivals to the mix, and you could make the case that fall is secretly the city’s best season for live music. Fact or fancy, it matters not; there’s something special to the sounds heard in the Crescent City this time of year. For a peek at what’s been percolating around town lately, take a look at photographer Kim Welsh’s shots from last week’s Harvest the Music and Jazz in the Park concert series.
