Dr. John will team up with the Funky Meters for a collaborative performance at the Telluride Jazz Festival. The iconic New Orleans musicians will headline the fest together on Saturday, August 5.

Now in its 41st year, the beloved Colorado festival will return to Telluride Town Park (which also hosts the famed Telluride Bluegrass Festival) from August 4 to 6. Other acts on the bill include Mavis Staples, Macy Gray, Lee field & The Expressions, Miles Mosley + The West Coast Get Down, The Suffers and more. The celebration will also host an opening concert with Macy Gray at the Sheridan Opera House on Thursday, August 3.

Dr. John has performed with the Funky Meters—and the Original Meters, for that matter—on numerous occasions over the year. The video below finds him taking up guitar with the band during a 2011 show in Gulfport, MS.
