Dr. John will make a guest appearance on tonight’s episode of NCIS: New Orleans. The musical icon will play himself on the program, just as he did on HBO’s Treme a few years ago.

The Good Doctor’s cameo, which was filmed back in August, is slated for the premiere of NCIS: New Orleans‘ second season. The series launched last fall and quickly became the highest-rated freshman drama since Desperate Housewives debuted in 2004.

The season two premiere of NCIS: New Orleans will be broadcast tonight at 8pm CT on CBS.

Fans that are more interested in seeing Dr. John in person will be happy to know that he has a number of tour dates scheduled for the remainder of the year, including three festivals this weekend and a slot at Carnegie Hall’s tribute to Bill Withers on October 1.
