The ongoing and devastating wildfires in California have left thousands displaced, with many in the Los Angeles area suffering significant losses. Among those hardest hit are musicians, artists, and other professionals in the entertainment industry, who are now facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives and careers.

“The entire GRAMMY® family is shocked and deeply saddened by the situation that is unfolding in Los Angeles,” said Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares. “The music community is being so severely impacted but we will come together as an industry to support one another. Our organizations exist to serve music people because music is a powerful force for good in the world, and we hope the broader industry will now rally to this cause.”

Michael Sammis of Universal Music Publishing is circulating a comprehensive spreadsheet listing musicians and other individuals in the music industry who have been impacted by the fires. The document includes information on how to donate directly to these individuals through funding platforms like GoFundMe.

The spreadsheet provides direct links to verified crowdfunding campaigns, allowing donors to offer immediate, targeted assistance to those in need. Among the individuals listed are up-and-coming artists who have lost their homes, sound engineers whose studios were destroyed, and industry veterans struggling to recover.

The California wildfires have been particularly devastating this year, with thousands of acres burned and entire communities uprooted. For those in the creative industries, the fires have not only taken a personal toll but also threatened livelihoods tied to irreplaceable instruments, equipment, and workspaces.

For those interested in helping, the spreadsheet can be accessed  here and donations can be made directly to individuals’ crowdfunding campaigns. Sammis and his team are urging others in the music and entertainment industry to share the list widely and contribute in any way possible.
