DJ T-Roy should be well known to any fan of Jamaican music in New Orleans. At his weekly Bayou International Soundsystem gigs at Dragon’s Den (Wednesdays) and Blue Nile (Thursdays), he runs the gamut from classic to contemporary dancehall, playing to clubbers and dreads alike.
This hour-long mix, selected and blended by T-Roy, features some of the top tunes of 2011, including songs by Alborosie, Collie Buddz, Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Mr. Vegas, Gyptian, I-Octane, Assassin, and many more.
This Spring, T-Roy will be releasing an original dub album, NOLA Rock. The album is just about finished, having been mastered by Prospek at Inner Recess Studios in the fall. On Monday, T-Roy tweeted the album cover artwork.
