Michael “HouseShoes” Buchanan, Detroit’s premier DJ and hip-hop ambassador, is coming to The Big Top tonight. House Shoes is at the top of a budding Motown resurgence and has worked closely with several other hip-hop artists and producers/MCs including J Dilla, Guilty Simpson, and Black Milk (and you can download his podcasts here).

House Shoes won’t come to New Orleans as a stranger, having been asked by New Orleans’ own Jay Electronica to be his tour DJ when he thought his regular DJ – also from Detroit – could not make it.

OffBeat has a pair of tickets to giveaway to the event, which starts at 10 p.m., is invite only and is hosted by J-Money, along with special guests J-Logic and Residents and DJs Tony Skratchere, Dubla, and Yamin.
