New Orleans City Council President JP Morrell honored Donald “DJ Hollygrove” Louding with a prestigious proclamation on Thursday, recognizing his significant contributions to the local community and his remarkable achievements in the music industry.
This is not DJ Hollygrove’s first acknowledgment of his exceptional work. On August 5, 2022, the City of New Orleans previously bestowed him with a proclamation for his commendable participation in disaster relief efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Ida. Additionally, he was recognized for his profound impact on the city’s historic music scene.
Hailing from New Orleans but now based in Houston, DJ Hollygrove is a multi-faceted personality, excelling in various roles, including entrepreneur, philanthropist, DJ, Grammy Board Member, and member of The Chopstars. With over a decade of experience, he has played a pivotal role in connecting artists with local and nationwide audiences.
One of DJ Hollygrove’s notable accomplishments is his role as a co-host on 93.7 The Beat’s ChopNotSlop Show. Through this platform, he played an essential part in breaking hits by acclaimed artists such as MadeInTyo, the late New Orleans hip-hop favorite Young Greatness, and global superstar Megan Thee Stallion, who recently performed at ESSENCE festival.
The recognition from the New Orleans City Council highlights DJ Hollygrove’s talents and commitment to making a positive difference in the music world and the lives of the less privileged.
