Earlier this year, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The seven-piece group brought the 40 years of experience under its collective belt to a national audience with the performance, performing both legacy and recent material. Now, the veterans will cap off 2017 with a celebration event in honor of the four decades of music behind them and are bringing with them a bevy of New Orleans talent with them to The Dirty Dozen Brass Band 40th Anniversary Celebration.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band 40th Anniversary Celebration takes place Saturday, December 23 at the Joy Theater (1200 Canal St.). In addition to the men of the hour, the event will feature performances from Preservation All-Stars, Ivan Neville, Benny Jones & Treme Brass Band, George Porter, Jr., Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Terence Higgins, Alvin Ford and more to be announced.
Tickets for the all-ages event are available here and range from $40-$75.
