Deutches Haus, New Orleans’ German Heritage organization, will host a week-long celebration of Elvis Presley.
The festivities will kick off this Wednesday, January 6 with a free Elvis movie marathon that will include back-to-back screenings of “Viva Las Vegas,” “G.I. Blues,” and “King Creole.”
Thrusday, January 7 will bring a free Elvis Karaoke Night, as well as a “New Orleans’ Best Elvis” competition. Beginning at 7pm, the event will give out prizes for Most Original Elvis Theme, Best Dressed Elvis, and Best Singing Elvis. Semi-finalists will also be invited to compete for additional prizes on Saturday night.
Friday, January 8 will feature a free Elvis Trivia Night at 7pm. Prizes will be will be awarded to the top three teams.
Finally, Elvis Week will wrap on Saturday, January 9 with Vince Vance and the Valiants’ Tribute to Elvis show. Tickets will be $20 at teh door, though they are available in advance for reduced prices.
All of the events will take place at the Deutches Haus on Ridgewood Dr. in Metaire. Food, beer and Elvis-themed drink specials will be available each night.
