As part of an ongoing bi-weekly Zoom series, trombonist and composer Delfeayo Marsalis will host a “happy hour” featuring Dirty Dozen Brass Band leader and Uptown Jazz Orchestra co-founder Roger Lewis on Friday, July 17.
“Delfeayo & Friends” is a partnership with the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in which conversation, music and more are featured in an online, ticketed setting. Already, Delfeayo has hosted his brother Branford and on future dates, he will have special guests George Porter, Jr. and Bobby Weir (July 31) as well as some as-yet-unannounced guests on August 14.
Each episode of Delfeayo & Friends is open to the public, though “seating” is limited. Admission to the events is free, but the CAC encourages donations of $10 or $20. Zoom is a free video-conferencing app which allows viewers to “attend” online events while live music and large gatherings indoors remain prohibited during the pandemic.
Contemporary Arts Center members receive priory early access to Delfeayo & Friends each week, plus exclusive merch, music downloads, and more. Click here to sign up for a CAC membership.
