The stage is set for bluesman, story-teller and lap steel master Spencer Bohren’s 17th annual Christmas party Thursday night, December 19, at Snug Harbor. As in year’s past, a colorful cast of characters will join Bohren in his holiday salute. This year’s special guest include: the Saint Cecilia Asylum Chorus, singer-songwriter Jim McCormick, fiddle player Gina Forsyth, pianist Bill MalChow, songstress Alexandra Scott, the Mystic Honkys (guitarists Rod Hodges and John Fohl), virtuoso guitarprist Phil deGruy, stringman extrodinaire Seva Venet, Sweedish blues rocker Nikke Strom, youngster Ben Perrine, Bohren’s daughter Corinna, his son Andre and bassist Dave Pomerleau (who also plays alongside Andre in Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes).
Special guests will successively hop on and off stage throughout the show, joining Bohren for a pair of carols each before rejoining the singalong from the crowd. Show times are at 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Admission is free; however, seating is limited. Snug Harbor is located at 626 Frenchmen Street (map).
