The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation have tapped David Simon, co-executive producer of Treme, to give the keynote address at this year’s Sync Up conference, which takes place during the Jazz Fest weekends. This year’s Sync Up has moved to the New Orleans Museum of Art to be closer to the festival, and once again it will bring together local, national and international industries with interests in different platforms including film, videogames, new media and television.
In addition to Simon’s talk, other activities this year include a roundtable of music buyers for festivals from around the world, a forum on licensing music to film and television, a panel on marketing music through social media, and a listening party for the new album by Quintron and Miss Pussycat, which they have been recording while installed in NOMA in their “Parallel Universe” show.
Sync Up is free, but seating is limited so registering early is recommended.
