Dave Jordan and the NIA is back in New Orleans after some time touring out west. The rock band is getting ready to get hit the scene in full force with a show at d.b.a. on Friday, October 5, 2018.
“The dba show will be the full, electric version of the NIA, which basically means we add lead guitar and crank up the amps,” said NIA leader Dave Jordan. “For these shows we also tend to pick songs from the more rock/funk side of our catalogue. We’ll do various stuff from the 6 albums I’ve put out (including material from my old funk band, Juice), as well as some brand new stuff and some covers. I’m currently writing/recording my next record and some of those songs will sneak into the set.”
For his first show after over a month of absence, Dave Jordan eased back into the scene with a stripped down incarnation of the NIA, leaning toward a singer-songwriter feel. This time around, the band is ready to rock, helped by opening act Darcy Malone & the Tangle.
“While out in Colorado, we shot an impromptu video of my song ‘The Waiting Feeling,’ while standing in the Colorado River,” Jordan recalled. “It came out surprisingly well and has been viewed or shared on Facebook nearly 2000 times.”
