Dave Jordan & The NIA have lots to celebrate this month. Back home after a ten-day tour in South Florida and the Keys, the band is kicking off 2019 with a bevy of offerings.
The rockers recently released a music video for “Come A Little Closer, Babe.” Shot at Chickie Wah Wah and all over Mid City, the video features cameos Sketch & The Dirty Notes saxophonist Sage Rouge, as well as Murf Reeves of WWOZ’s “New Orleans Music Show.”
The celebratory mood continues this weekend, with Jordan kicking off his annual run of birthday shows with an appearance tonight (January 24) at Ogden Museum of Southern Art’s Ogden After Hours series. On Friday, January 25, he and his band will play the Maple Leaf. Saturday, January 26, the fellas will visit the North Shore for a show at Ruby’s Roadhouse in Mandeville.
Later this year, Dave Jordan & The NIA will release an album titled Burning Sage, tentatively set for a release in early April. Plus, they’ll appear at Jazz Fest on Sunday, April 28.
