Comedic giants Dave Chappelle and Chris Tucker will join forces for a co-headlining performance at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on Wednesday, February 15.
Both Chappelle and Tucker have revived their stand up careers in recent years after taking some time off from the limelight.
Chappelle last performed in New Orleans when his comeback tour came to the Saenger in December 2014. Known for his eponymous Comedy Central show, which ran from 2003-2005, Chapelle returned to the small screen last month when he hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time. He’s slated to release three stand up sets via Netflix in 2017.
Tucker revived his career in 2012 with a role in the Oscar-winning film Silver Linings Playbook. Much like Chapelle, the Rush Hour actor also inked a stand up comedy deal with Netflix, which released its Chris Tucker – Live special in 2015.
Chappelle and Tucker are the latest A-list comedians to announce shows in New Orleans. Chris Rock just unveiled his plans for a two-night run at the Saenger, while Amy Schumer is gearing up to headline the Smoothie King Center on New Year’s Eve. Adam Sandler, David Spade and Rob Schneider were scheduled to perform in town last week, but the SNL alumni canceled the gig at the last minute due to Sandler’s illness.
Tickets for Chapelle and Tucker’s New Orleans stop will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, December 14.
