The Jazz Fest after show confirmations started rolling in this week, but a diverse array of artists also announced New Orleans concerts with no connection to the seven-day festival.
Emo giants Dashboard Confessional unveiled the tour dates for their first outing since the group went on hiatus in 2011. The run includes a stop at the House of Blues New Orleans on Monday, February 13. The band’s last album, Alter the Ending, was released in 2009.
Singer and rapper Kehlani will make her way to Republic in New Orleans on Saturday, May 20. While the young songwriter and performer has recorded a number of mixtapes, her upcoming tour will be in support of her first full length album, SweetSexySavage, which is slated for release on January 27.
Finally, Dean Ween Group will make a stop at Tipitina’s on Wednesday, February 1. The project is led by Ween guitarist Mickley Melchiondo (aka Dean Ween), who is joined by a rotating cast of musicians. Deen Ween Group’s last performed in New Orleans during Jazz Fest 2016 when they headlined the Megalomaniacs Ball at Howlin’ Wolf.
