Registration is now open for Culture Campout 2025, an enriching weekend event taking place from January 17-19. Culture Campout is dedicated to fostering intercultural community-building, celebration, and preservation, inviting attendees to experience a vibrant lineup of cultural exchanges, live performances and hands-on workshops.
Held annually, this immersive event is more than a festival; it’s a gathering of community members, artists and culture bearers from a wide range of backgrounds, with the shared goal of learning about and celebrating one another’s cultural traditions. Over three days, participants will engage in workshops on music, dance and language, as well as informal gatherings, jam sessions and live performances that honor both traditional and contemporary expressions of diverse cultures.
The schedule will feature dance and music workshops, language-learning tables, and cultural sharing sessions. Attendees can expect meal times that highlight diverse culinary traditions and vibrant jam sessions where cultures blend in real-time.
The 2025 lineup includes cultural bearers representing a rich tapestry of traditions. Among them are:
- Dile Que Nola, presenting Cuban music,
- Margie Perez’s Grupo Latino, sharing Latin rhythms,
- Scierra LeGarde of the Choctaw Nation,
- Layla Creppel of the Lumbee tribe,
- Auguste Cocoa Creppel and Greyhawk Perkins with Houma heritage,
- Janese Brooks, presenting Afro-Diasporic dance,
- Senais Edwards III, known for gospel,
- The Maroons and Sula Spirit, representing Afro-Diasporic music,
- The Broussard Sisters with Creole roots,
- T Marie and Bayou Juju, offering a unique Cajun fusion, and many more.
The culinary lineup will also reflect the weekend’s intercultural spirit, with offerings such as Salvadoran pupusas from Pupuseria la Milpa and Vietnamese cuisine from Que Pho.
