Cronos, the urban contemporary singer-songwriter, released his new EP, Greetings from Paradise, on Oct. 22. Greetings from Paradise consists of five tracks, including the pop record “Paradise” and the synth ballad “Lovin’ U Tonight,” which features the New Orleans R&B singer Ariee. The EP also features rapper Allan Cubas on vocals for the track “Papi.”
The EP was co-produced by David V, founder of Studio 55, a record label located in Ponchatoula, LA. “David mixed and mastered my first album In My Bones,” said Cronos. “I played “Paradise” for him after one of the sessions and he liked it a lot. It wasn’t’ finished and he completed it. That was when we decided to do more work together. We recorded about ten to fifteen songs, and ended up choosing these five.”
The EP release coincided with a video release for the opening track, “Paradise.” The video depicts Cronos partying and singing on a boat while a guitarist performs the song’s catchy riffs. The video was directed by Tyler Drude and Kyle Nuss.
“New Orleans is about two things: hospitality and partying!” said Cronos, when asked about his inspirations for creating the EP. “Nowhere like The Big Easy can make you feel right at home while showing you a good time!! The delicious delicacies and live bands on every corner are inspired from all sorts of cultures. Greetings from Paradise was created with the intention of being a feel good EP! Just like the city, we just want people to have a good time and feel connected in doing so. The EP is a gumbo of all the influences from growing up in the greater New Orleans Area.”
Greetings from Paradise released on all streaming platforms on Oct. 22. For more information about Cronos, his work or to stream his music, visit his website, here.
