Famed actor Corey Feldman is best known for his roles in popular ’80s films like The Goonies, Stand By Me and The Lost Boys. However, the former child star has explored his musical inclinations in recent years, even putting out albums and touring North America with his band The Truth Movement.
Feldman’s latest project finds him backed by an assortment of female musicians he calls “Corey’s Angels.” The band has performed at venues throughout the country, including a slot at the beloved Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Now it looks like New Orleans will get its own taste of the group when Feldman comes to Southport Hall on Friday, July 28
Most people got their first introduction to Feldman and his angels last fall when the band debuted their song “Go 4 It” on the Today Show. While the performance was widely panned in the press and on social media, a defiant Feldman returned to the same program a month later for another song.
Feldman’s upcoming New Orleans show will, appropriately, feature an ‘80s theme. ‘80s cover band Werewolf will open the night, and fans are encouraged to dress up in costumes that capture the spirit of the decade (those in costume will receive a $3 discount on their ticket). Organizers also plan to put on a burlesque show at the event, though details on that are not yet available.
Tickets for Corey Feldman at Southport Music Hall will go on sale Wednesday, April 5.
