Famed comedian Eddie Izzard will bring his act to the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans later this year. The English stand-up comic will perform at the venue on Wednesday, December 9, when he swings through the Southern United States for the latest leg of his Force Majuere Tour.
Izzard is known for his surreal, rambling style, which was heavily influenced by the work of Monty Python. He has sold out world class establishments like Madison Square Garden, and his 2000 stand-up special Dress to Kill earned him an Primetime Emmy Award for Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program. He has also appeared in films like Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Thirteen, Mystery Men and Valkyrie, in addition to playing a lead role in the FX series The Riches.
Tickets for Izzard’s performance at the Saenger Theatre will go on sale this Friday, October 30 at 10am. Fans will be able to purchase them online via Ticketmaster.
Izzard’s show at the Saenger will come just a few weeks after his fellow stand-up comedy legend, Jerry Seinfeld, takes the stage there on November 20. Comedian Brian Regan will also perform at New Orleans’ Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts on January 10, while Patton Oswalt will perform at the same venue on January 23.
