On Thursday, January 9 at the Joy Theater, comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Quinn will tear the country’s moral fabric to shreds with his latest bit, Unconstitutional. The politically incorrect routine, which takes potshots at everyone from Dolly Madison to Kim Kardashian (who is currently unsure if she’ll stick with the blonde or go back to her natural black hair color), undresses the country’s socio-political status from the purview of its founding fathers. Tickets to catch Quinn’s trouncing of the supreme law of the land are available online and range from $25.00-75.00. The show will begin at 8:00 p.m.
A blue collar Brooklynite know for his dry, biting wit, Quinn attained a relative level of fame and notoriety during his five-year run on Saturday Night Live from the mid-to-late Nineties, most notably as Norm Macdonald’s successor on its fake news segment Weekend Update. For those whose memories are still capable of reaching back to MTV’s Mesozoic Era, Quinn’s time spent on the fledgling network’s first non-musical program, the inane pop-culture quiz show Remote Control, should ring a bell. After leaving SNL, Quinn hosted his own short-lived variety show, NBC’s The Colin Quinn Show, in 2002, as well as the somewhat more successful comedic talk show Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn on Comedy Central from 2002-04. Unconstitutional is Quinn’s second traveling, one-man show. Previously, Quinn took his satirical shtick on the road in the Jerry Seinfeld-directed stage show Colin Quinn: Long Story Short. Here’s a clip of Quinn explaining Unconstitutional’s premise to and throwing a few quips at Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
