CNN anchors Don Lemon and Brooke Baldwin will return to New Orleans for the network’s annual New Year’s Eve countdown coverage. The pair will host the Central Time Zone segment of the broadcast live from Frenchmen Street, where they will hold things down at the Spotted Cat Music Club. They will be in contact with fellow anchors Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin, who will host the Eastern Time Zone countdown from New York City’s Times Square.
CNN also sent Lemon and Baldwin down to New Orleans for last year’s broadcast, which turned into a memorable affair for all the wrong reasons. In what must have been an awkward attempt at embodying New Orleans cliches, a possibly-inebriated Lemon told Griffin she had a “nice rack” while putting on a comically oversized pair of Mardi Gras beads. Perhaps someone will monitor Lemon’s hand grenade intake more judiciously this time around, but you’ll have to tune in to find out.
Haha. @donlemon is officially cut off. #CNNNYE #nicerackkathy pic.twitter.com/tKwrbmBRRf
