The memory of late funk-rock guitar player Clark Vreeland will be celebrated at an all star tribute concert at the Old U.S. Mint on April 9, 2014.
Organized by guitar wizard Jimmy Robinson, the concert will feature a long list of notable musicians Vreeland played alongside, inspired, or influenced.
Ed Volker, Tommy Malone, Dave Malone, Spencer Bohren, Andre Bohren, Susan Cowsill, Russ Broussard, Mark Mullins, Carlo Nuccio, Johnny Ray Allen, Leigh “Li’l Queenie” Harris, Bruce Raeburn, Jimmy Messa, Rosie Rosato, and other surprise guests are all slated to perform at the tribute.
Vreeland was a founding member of the rock band The Rhapsodizers, whose members went on to form the Radiators. Vreeland died after a battle with cancer on December 26, 2013, at the age of 62.
In lieu of ticket sales, donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Vreeland’s family. The event will be held in the ballroom on the third floor of the Old U.S. Mint, and the tribute will begin at 7 p.m.
