New Orleans City Council President Helena Moreno will lead the 2025 Krewe of Pygmalion Parade as Grand Marshal, the krewe announced in a press release. Moreno, known for her advocacy and leadership in public service, will preside over the 25th anniversary celebration of the beloved Mardi Gras parade on February 22, 2025.
Moreno, who has served as a vocal proponent for public safety, economic opportunity, and environmental sustainability, is widely respected for her commitment to improving the lives of New Orleans residents. Her role as City Council President has seen her champion policies aimed at promoting fairness, justice, and a safer community.
“Helena is the embodiment of what it means to be a champion for New Orleans, and it is a privilege to have her as our Grand Marshal this year,” said Krewe of Pygmalion Captain Jack P. Rizzuto.
The 2025 Krewe of Pygmalion Parade will roll at sunset, beginning at the corner of Jefferson and Magazine streets. Featuring 26 floats and more than 850 riders, the parade will showcase crowd favorites like the Jester, Aphrodite, and the Mammoth floats as it winds through Uptown and ends near Mother’s Restaurant in the Central Business District.
This year’s festivities will also include the post-parade Pygmalion Fest at the Sugar Mill, featuring performances by electronic music star Steve Aoki, the Party Crashers, and DJ Rachii. Tickets for Pygmalion Fest are available at kreweofpygmalion.org.
The Krewe of Pygmalion has been a fixture of New Orleans’ Carnival season for 25 years, known for its elaborate floats and high-energy celebrations. With Moreno leading the way in this milestone year, the krewe aims to honor her dedication to the city while delivering a parade and celebration to remember.
