Kenny Chesney will return to Baton Rouge for the second Bayou Country Superfest. The Memorial Day weekend country music festival will be back at Tiger Stadium May 28 and 29, 2011, and this year’s talent lineup includes Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins (pictured), Sugarland, Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Thompson and Lee Brice. The roster has a number of Louisiana connections: McGraw and Adkins are from Louisiana, Sugarland’s rhythm section is from Louisiana, Chesney has his well-publicized friendship with Saints coach Sean Payton, and New Orleanian Jim McCormick has written songs for McGraw, Adkins and Luke Bryan. McGraw, Sugarland and the Zac Brown Band have also played Jazz Fest, whose producer – Festival Productions – also produces Bayou Country Superfest.
“The first Bayou Country Superfest was even greater than we had dreamed, as exciting and powerful as any live concert experience anywhere,” says producer Quint Davis. “Here’s your chance to see an unequalled galaxy of country music superstars to be found only in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, under the skies of Tiger Stadium.”
