In between Jazz Fest weekends this Wednesday, May 4, Chaz Fest was held at the “Truck Farm” on St. Claude Avenue. The festival celebrates some of the best and brightest Ninth Ward musicians and offers a two-stage music festival in a more lush and intimate setting than the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival without missing out on the Ninth Wonder of the World: crawfish bread. This year’s performers included the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars, Helen Gillet, Narcissy, the Palmetto Bug Stompers, Mas Mamones, and Schatzy, among others. The crowd this year even included HBO Treme actor Steve Zahn.
