New Orleans funk-fusion outfit Chapter:SOUL will hit the road later this month for a series of tour dates. The group–led by tenor saxophonist Calvin Johnson Jr. and anchored by sousaphone legend Kirk Joseph of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band–will make stops in St. Louis, Memphis, Austin and Dallas over the course of a five-day outing.

Chapter:SOUL, which is rounded out by keyboardist Kashonda Bailey and drummer Terry Scott, has been holding down a regular Thursday gig at Verret’s Lounge in Central City for some time. The band has also scheduled a few more out-of-state dates in Birmingham, Jackson, Bryan, TX and Ocean Springs, MS for August.
