Chapel Hart — the fledgling all-female country trio recently nominated for Best New Artist at the 2019 OffBeat Best of the Beat Music Awards — is making a proverbial splash with its latest release. Comprised of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart plus their cousin Trea Swindle, Chapel Hart has partnered with Billy Gibbons of iconic Houston rock band ZZ Top.
“Jesus & Alcohol” is Chapel Hart’s debut single, written by the three women. Its video stars Gibbons in a role as “Reverend Willy G.” Directed by David Abbott, the music video follows the less-holier-than-thou reverend who sips on liquor after a marriage ceremony is canceled. Elsewhere, the bride and her friends — played by Chapel Hart — consume their own bottle of brown and eventually the parties unite and party away the heartache.
