In May, Crescent Canna and other hemp beverage companies squared off with Louisiana legislators regarding the sale of THC-infused products such as seltzers and gummies. Shreveport Republican Senator Thomas Pressly, R-Shreveport, Senate Bill 237 passed the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice by a 7-5 vote May 14. The bill, which faced opposition from 67 lobbyists and organizations, proposed to outlaw the manufacture or sale of products containing any tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound in cannabis, except those licensed as medical marijuana products. Local company Crescent Canna, which produces seltzers and gummies containing THC and CBD encouraged Louisiana residents to push back and speak out against the proposed legislation. The small business said if the legislation was overturned, they would host a party and now they are delivering on that promise.
Crescent Canna has joined forces with Tipitina’s to host “Wobble Fest” which celebrates the big winner Louisiana hemp businesses over the special interests that sought to ban the industry .
