Celebrate “Black Creole Chronicles” with a Special Listening Party

Join Garden District Book Shop at The Rink on Thursday, July 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a special listening party celebrating the music of “Black Creole Chronicles,” the 2024 selection by One Book One New Orleans.

The listening party will immerse attendees in the rhythms and lyrics that inspired by Poet Laureate of Louisiana, Dr. Mona Lisa Saloy’s, “Black Creole Chronicles.” As you soak in the music, enjoy a custom-crafted cocktail designed to capture the essence of Dr. Saloy’s poetic work. The event also provides an opportunity to purchase a copy of “Black Creole Chronicles,” allowing the magic of the evening to continue at home.

Hosted by One Book One New Orleans, an organization with over 2,000 attendees, the event is set in the charming Garden District Book Shop, located at 2727 Prytania Street, Suite 8, New Orleans, LA 70130. The venue is easily accessible, with covered and street parking available, and is just one block from the St. Charles Streetcar at Washington Ave.

Made possible through a grant from the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund (NOTCF), this community event reflects the rich cultural tapestry of New Orleans and offers a unique opportunity to connect with the local literary and musical scene.

This event is free and open to the public. The Garden District Book Shop is accessible to community members requiring mobility-related ADA accommodations, ensuring an inclusive experience for all.
