As the holiday season approaches, one of the most anticipated highlights of the season is the Cathedral Concerts series at the historic St. Louis Cathedral. This free concert series showcases a diverse lineup of talented local artists, offering a magical musical experience in the heart of the French Quarter. Each performance begins at 6 p.m. and provides a soulful soundtrack to the season.
Cathedral Concerts Schedule
- Wednesday, December 4: John Boutté – Known for his roots in the Treme neighborhood and his deeply spiritual, soulful voice.
- Wednesday, December 11: BeauSoleil’s Christmas Bayou avec Michael Doucet – Celebrating their 50th anniversary, this Grammy-winning Cajun group brings a lively and heartwarming holiday performance.
- Wednesday, December 18: Yusa & Mahmoud Chouki – Cuban musical powerhouse Yusa joins Moroccan guitarist and composer Mahmoud Chouki for a global fusion of holiday sounds.
- Sunday, December 22: St. Louis Cathedral Choir and Orchestra Concert – A classical celebration of the season, followed by Caroling in the Square at 7 p.m. in Jackson Square.
Close out 2024 with the inaugural New Orleans Eve concert at Jackson Square, featuring live music from local favorites Tank and the Bangas, Bonerama and DJ RQ Away, and culminating in the Crescent City Countdown fireworks show over the Mississippi River.
