Friends of Lafitte Greenway, in partnership with the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORD), is excited to announce the call for proposals for the 5th Supernova exhibit, set to take place from December 11-14, 2024, at the Greenway Plaza and Station. This annual, light-based public art exhibit and music event is a highlight of the New Orleans cultural calendar, designed to inspire, spark joy and wonder for the community, support emerging visual and performing artists and enhance the vibrant Lafitte Greenway community.
Musicians, musical acts, artists, artist teams and designers are encouraged to submit their proposals for a chance to participate in this dynamic event. Supernova offers a unique platform for emerging talents to showcase their work and perform in front of a large public audience. The event is free and open to the public, transforming the Greenway Plaza and Station—located where the Greenway meets Bayou St. John at 500 N. Norman C. Francis Parkway—into a magical landscape of light and sound.
The application process is now open, and the deadline to apply is August 18. This is an incredible opportunity for aspiring musicians and artists to gain exposure and connect with the New Orleans community. Interested applicants should ensure they are available for the event dates, December 11-14, before submitting their proposals.
