The 10th annual Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival will take over Armstrong Park on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. The free festival will feature performances by a veariety of zydeco luminaries, including Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas, Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys and Roddie Romero and the Hub City All-Stars, among others.
This year’s festivities will also showcase families of the late zydeco masters Boozoo Chavis and Bois Sec Ardoin. Chavis’ grandsons RJ Chavis and Justin Chavis will lead their respective bands on Saturday, while Ardoin’s grandsons Sean Ardoin and Chris Ardoin will helm their own projects.
The music begins at 11am each day before closing out at 7pm. A number of food and craft vendors will be on site as well.
