Friends of the Cabildo will present Hidden Treasures of the Louisiana State Museum: Carnival Edition on Tuesday, January 12 and Thursday, January 14 at the Cabildo in New Orleans.
The musueum will open its impressive Carnival Collection for an exclusive behind-the-scenes viewing of historic costumes and other rarely seen artifacts. Wayne Philips, Curator of Costumes and Textiles for the Louisiana State Museum, will guide attendees through the Cabildo’s storage rooms, which are usually off limits to the general public.
The tours will begin at 6pm and 7pm with at the storage facility at 1000 Chartres Street. Admission is extremely limited, so reservations will be required. No tickets will be sold at the door.
