Time is running out to buy your tickets to the 2014 Best of the Beat Awards ceremony at Generations Hall on January 22.
This year, OffBeat will recognize Ellis Marsalis with a Lifetime Achievement in Music award, Roger Dickerson will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Music Education award, Gary Edwards will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Music Business award, and Pat Jolly will receive the Heartbeat Award.
The 2014 Best of the Beat Awards will feature performances by New Orleans Suspects, Sweet Crude, BateBunda, Honey Island Swamp Band, an all-star tribute to Ellis Marsalis, and more.
Many of the city’s finest restaurants will be serving complimentary cuisine, including the Bombay Club, Bratz Yall, Cellardoor, Crazy Lobster, Creole Cuisine, Custom Catering, GG’s Dinerama, the Gumbo Shop, Ivy, New Orleans Creole Cookery, NOLA Foods and WhooDoo BBQ, Richard Fiske’s Martini Bar, Southern Candymakers, Tee-Eva’s, Mona’s Café, Praline Connection and many more.
