The 1st annual All Souls Musicians Memorial will be held on Tuesday, November 2. The All Souls Musicians Memorial will celebrate musicians and supporters of New Orleans culture who passed away in 2010. Church services will be held at Our Lady of Guadeloupe at 11 a.m. Afterwards, the internment for Bernard “Bunchy” Johnson will take place at Saint Louis Cemetery I. The brass band will be playing a new composition by Jimmy Carpenter, Craig Klein and Wardell Quezergue written in memory of the passing of our musicians.
Among those who’ll be remembered are photographer Herman Leonard. There will be a separate second line for Leonard Saturday starting at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The second line will start at 3, led by the Hot 8 Brass Band and members of the Sudan Social Aid and Pleasure Club and of the Pussyfooters.
