[Updated below] Bernard “Bunchy” Johnson passed away Monday morning, March 22. His funeral will take place Saturday morning, March 27 at 10 a.m. at Duplain W. Rhodes Funeral Home (3933 Washington Ave.). It will be followed by a second line and a repast at Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club (1931 St. Claude Ave.).

Since we first reported on the funeral services for Bunchy Johnson, we’ve received updated news that we have confirmed with the funeral home. His funeral will be at Trinity Episcopal Church (1329 Jackson Ave.), not Rhodes Funeral Home. There will be a viewing starting at 9:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 11. We regret the confusion.
