The Buku Music + Art Project kicks has sold out for the third time since its first installment in 2012. Attendence is estimated to hit 30,000 this time around.
The festival, which kicks off today at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans, will feature sets from Pretty Lights (live band), Kid Cudi, Future and many more, as well as a number of art installations, showcases and other activities.
As many of you in the New Orleans area know, the weather has not been great for the past 24 hours . Consequently, Buku has released a weather update reassuring fans that they have the situation under control. It reads:
We know that many of you are concerned with reports of potential inclement weather for this weekend, and we want to assure y’all that safety is our number one priority. We have weather contingency plans set in place for a variety of scenarios, and we’ll be keeping you posted throughout the weekend via our social channels, official BUKU app, and website.
As you know, the weather forecast can change from day to day, however we advise that you come prepared with rain gear such as ponchos or raincoats and rainboots. We will also have BUKU-branded ponchos for sale on site, so feel free to leave your umbrellas at home.
Additionally, Buku has also announced that umbrellas will not be allowed inside the festival grounds because they block views and are prone to flying away.
