Jazz Fest 2021 dates will be in October 2021, OffBeat has learned from a reputable source.
Following up on the announcement of the French Quarter Festival’s 2021 dates from September 30 through October 3, OffBeat has learned from an inside source that the 2021 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell will be the two weekends following the 2021 French Quarter Festival, October 8-10 and October 15-17, 2021, with the possibility of a seven- or eight-day festival over the two weekends. Officially the dates will be made public next week.
The Jazz Fest was originally rescheduled to take place on April 22 through May 2, 2021 but the dates have reportedly been moved back to October 2021.
This three festival weekends follow the blockbuster date sequence of three big festival weekends (French Quarter Fest, then two weekends of Jazz Fest) that was supposed to take place in 2020. This was, of course, shelved—along with a spring 2021 festival season—because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The second-to-last weekend in October, October 22-23, has also been confirmed as the date for the 2021 Buku Music + Art Project (originally rescheduled from March 2020 to March 2021, and then canceled again),
Voodoo Vest has already been rescheduled for the last weekend in October: Friday, October 29 to Sunday, October 31, 2021.
Lineups have not yet been announced for any of the October 2021 festivals. Make your reservations!
