New Orleans / Lafayette indie pop band, Brass Bed – who made a splash last year with their EP, On Nilsson – kick off their summer 2013 tour in support of their recent LP release, The Secret Will Keep You at the brand new uptown music and art venue Gasa Gasa this Friday, July 5.
Brass Bed will be joined by rising folk brothers trio, Cardinal Sons for their debut show at Gasa Gasa Friday. This will be the first time the two bands finally have the opportunity to play together, as both bands say they’ve been wanting to share a stage for some time now. The “kinda cool folksiness” of the Cardinal Sons’ rural Mississippi-inspired, soul/funk-infused indie folk sound was profiled in an interview with the band in last month’s issue of OffBeat Magazine here. De Lune Deluge opens.
Brass Bed takes off next week on their first national tour, which begins July 10 in Denver, CO.
