Pearl Jam, Dead & Company and LCD Soundsystem will headline this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival when it returns to Manchester, TN from June 9 to 12. The lineup was revealed last night during an announcement event on the TBS late night show Conan.
Pearl Jam will head to the festival just a few months after they perform at this year’s Jazz Fest, while indie darlings LCD Soundsystem will take the stage a few months after they play their first show in over five years at Coachella. Dead & Company–the new Grateful Dead offshoot from Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Oteil Burbridge and John Mayer–will treat Bonnaroo to two sets of music, much like one of their non-festival gigs (Deadheads are no doubt happy to hear that the band will be embarking on another tour this summer).
Other big name artists on the bill include Jazz Fest headliner J. Cole, Ellie Goulding, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tame Impala (who will play a psychedelic late night set), Death Cab for Cutie. M83, HAIM, a newly reunited Ween and Jason Isbell, among others.
This year’s Bonnaroo is relatively short on Louisiana acts, though Lafayette-based indie outfit Givers can be found on the bill. Jazz Fest staples Lettuce will also be at the festival, along with rising jazz star Kamasi Washington and old school soul revivalist Leon Bridges. There’s always a good chance that the festival’s Snake & Jakes Christmas Barn will make a return as well, just as it has in past years.
Tickets for Bonnaroo will go on sale this Friday, January 22 at noon ET. The full music lineup–the comedy lineup will come later–can be found below. You can also check out our photos from last year’s Bonnaroo here.
