Every Monday in June, acoustic bluesman Spencer Bohren will play “Blue Mondays” at Chickie Wah Wah. Bohren was recognized in January when he received the Blues Foundation’s Keeping the Blues Alive award for Education, and the multi-instrumentalist will play classics as well as new material.

Bohren is also a new Threadhead Records project. “My last releases have been solo projects of both traditional and original songs, using overdubs to orchestrate the music or harmonize the singing,” he says. “I am eager to make an album of my latest original songs utilizing the spectacular pool of New Orleans talent already in the Threadhead family.  I also want to work with some young musicians, including my own kids and those of musical colleagues.” To contribute, click here.
