Pianist, singer and New Orleans icon Al “Carnival Time” Johnson is turning 83 years young this year and you’re invited to his celebratory bash.
On Monday, June 20, “Carnival Timers” will gather at Sidney’s Saloon to toast Al’s birthday. The voice behind the anthemic 1960s single “Carnival Time” will of course be in attendance, as will some New Orleans musicians who will perform. Bring a dish and invite friends. The cash bar will be open.
Al’s birthday celebration runs from 6-9 p.m. Sidney’s Saloon is located at 1200 St. Bernard Avenue.
