On Friday, December 1, Big Sam’s Christmas Jam is coming to town. Big Sam’s Funky Nation hosts the annual holiday getdown that frequently spotlights local talents representing an array of musical stylings. This year, the Queen of Bounce herself, Big Freedia, will share the stage with the funky collective. Also on the bill is musician, singer and songwriter Myron Thomas.

Big Sam and Big Freedia were recently co-billed at the massive National Fried Chicken Festival, so their on-stage chemistry is well documented.

Doors for Big Sam’s Christmas Jam at Tipitina’s open at 8:30 p.m. with a showtime of 9:30 p.m. The event is 18+ and advance tickets are available here for $16 (you’ll pay $18 the day of).
