Big Freedia, New Orleans bounce star, was sentenced yesterday with three years probation for illegally receiving Section 8 housing vouchers.

The judge also sentenced the performer to 100 hours of community service and a fine of $35,000, to be paid in increments of $500 per month.

The charge was in response to allegations that the defendant improperly received the Section 8 federal housing assistance vouchers after she was found to be earning too much money to be eligible for government aid.

In March, Big Freedia pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a restitution of approximately $34,800.
