A little over 20 miles south of New Orleans, the Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival will bring music, seafood and business to the small town founded on Native American shell middens, pirate commerce and bayou fisherman. At the top of the lineup, artists Lauren Alaina, Better Than Ezra, Martina McBride and many more will perform this weekend, November 11-13.
The festival will include live music, Louisiana cuisine, swamp tours, kayak rentals, carnival rides and a Louisiana art walk. The event space includes the town’s Wetland Trace, a boardwalk trail through a 41-acre cypress swamp nature preserve adjacent to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Swamp Tours will also allow visitors to explore the wetlands.
Highlight act Better Than Ezra are fresh off their 2022 “Legends of the Fall” tour, visiting their favorite clubs and theaters. The band is ready to play on their home turf.
“We can’t wait to get up close and personal with the audience. Get ready for new songs, new moves, and also tapping back into the catalog to songs we haven’t played in years,” said Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin (lead vocals, guitar, piano). “So many of our songs pull from settings and images of autumn, and the fall has always been our favorite time of year to tour.”
The festival will offer tickets for each day ranging from $10-$15 or a full weekend pass for $30. More information and tickets are available at www.lafitteseafoodfestival.com.
