The year is coming to an end soon, and we all know what that means. It means OffBeat is delighted to announce the details for the 2015 Best of the Beat Music Awards!
The ceremony and celebration will take place Thursday, January 21 at Generations Hall in New Orleans’ Warehouse District.
Currently scheduled musical performances include a tribute to Allen Toussaint led by Dumpstaphunk’s Tony Hall, along with sets from Walter “Wolfman” Washington, ROAR! and Quickie Mart (additional performers will be confirmed in the coming weeks). Attendees will also be able to dine on food from 25 different local establishments.
The Best of the Beat Music Awards will honor four lifetime achievement recipients at this year’s ceremony, including local rock legends The Radiators (Music), renowned vocalist and educator Germaine Bazzle (Music Education), New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic Nurse Practitioner Catherine Lasperches (HeartBeat Award) and Tipitina’s Foundation co-founder/co-chair Roland Von Kurnatowski (Music Business).
Online voting for the various music awards will begin in December. You can check out a list of past Best of the Beat award winners here.
Early bid tickets for the event are now on sale at a reduced rate, with prices slated to rise on December 15.
